AS PSI and CO Korhogo draw 2-2 in CAF Confederation Cup opener

AS PSI of Chad and CO Korhogo of Côte d’Ivoire played to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup 2026-2027 preliminary round. The match took place on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Maréchal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno Olympic Stadium in Mandjafa.

CO Korhogo took an early lead with a 0-1 advantage in the first half. AS PSI responded in the second half, managing to equalize and eventually take the lead. However, CO Korhogo secured a late equalizer in the final minutes of the match to end the contest in a stalemate.

Following the match, AS PSI coach Zakaria Gardia expressed disappointment, stating, “We played a bit of a disappointing match. We should have won.” He noted that the team's goal was to honor the stadium during its first hosting of an African competition. The two teams will face each other again in the return leg in Côte d’Ivoire.
