AS Roma Nears Dybala Contract Renewal as New Director D'Amico Takes Charge

AS Roma is close to finalising a new contract for Argentine forward Paulo Dybala. After the player rejected an initial offer, the club has raised its proposal and intensified talks with his agent Ryan Friedkin. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has publicly urged the renewal, citing Dybala’s importance for the team’s return to the Champions League, which will boost the club’s financial capacity. The imminent signing of former Fiorentina chief Tony D'Amico as Roma’s new sporting director is expected to accelerate the deal, with D'Amico slated to sign his own three‑year contract within days.

Alongside Dybala, Roma is also managing expiring contracts for midfielders Lorenzo Pellegrini and Zeki Celik, while monitoring potential departures such as Manu Koné. The club continues to explore other transfer targets, including Brazilian winger Igor Paixao, Italian defender Matteo Ruggeri and Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, but the priority remains solidifying the core squad that secured Champions League qualification.
