AS Roma eyes sales of Argentine winger Matías Soulé and Irish striker Evan Ferguson to meet financial deadline

AS Roma is under pressure to raise cash before the June 30 financial deadline. The club is considering selling 23‑year‑old Argentine winger Matías Soulé, who joined from Juventus for €25.6 million and is now valued at about €40 million. German Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have shown the strongest interest, while clubs such as West Ham United, Atlético Madrid and Fenerbahçe have also been linked to the player.

At the same time, Roma has decided not to trigger the €38 million purchase clause for 21‑year‑old Irish striker Evan Ferguson. The Brighton & Hove Albion forward, on loan at Roma, made 16 Serie A appearances with three goals but struggled with injuries and adaptation to Serie A. Consequently, the club will not pay the agreed clause, leaving Ferguson to return to his parent club.

Both potential moves are part of Roma’s effort to secure the necessary funds to satisfy its fiscal obligations before the end of June.
