UEFA official reports broken trust with FIFA president

UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti has stated that the bond of trust between UEFA and FIFA president Gianni Infantino has been broken. This tension stems from the ‘Fifa Forward Enterprise’ project, which involves attempts to sell portions of World Cup rights to private investors. Marchetti described the project as ‘sick’ and ‘wrong,’ noting that it has exposed significant vulnerabilities in FIFA’s governance and requires deep reform.

In football competition news, AS Roma’s Champions League schedule has been confirmed. The Italian club will face a challenging series of away matches, including fixtures against Fenerbahce in Istanbul, Manchester United at Old Trafford, Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, and AEK Athens. The campaign begins on September 10 against Fenerbahce.
