AS Roma faces injury crisis ahead of Genoa match
AS Roma faces significant squad challenges ahead of their Serie A match against Genoa following a 4-3 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed that several key players will be unavailable for the upcoming fixture.
Manu Koné has been diagnosed with a first-degree lesion in his right biceps femoris. While the injury is not considered extremely serious, it is expected to sideline him for approximately 20 days, with a potential return in early November. Paulo Dybala is also ruled out for the Genoa match due to calf muscle fatigue, though he is expected to return for Roma’s next matches.
Additionally, Donyell Malen will be unavailable due to suspension, and Bryan Cristante remains sidelined. Gasperini indicated he may rely on youth players or tactical shifts, such as moving Lorenzo Pellegrini into a deeper midfield role, to manage the shortage. Despite these setbacks, the coach emphasized the team's resilience and value following recent high-level competition.
