AS Roma near agreement on Paulo Dybala contract renewal
AS Roma has finalised most of the terms for a new contract with Argentine forward Paulo Dybala. The club has sent a renewal proposal, and Dybala’s representatives have returned a counter‑offer. Both sides are awaiting the formal signing, with the deal expected within days. The Argentine is prepared to accept a substantial wage cut, reducing his salary from around €8 million to roughly €2.5‑2.8 million per year, plus performance bonuses.
Club president Daniele D'Amico has said that securing the extensions of Dybala, midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini and defender Zeki Celik is a top priority, especially as Roma waits to confirm the new sporting director. Pellegrini and Celik are also expected to sign new deals, with Pellegrini’s wage halved from €6 million to €3 million. A Premier League club is reportedly monitoring Dybala’s situation, but Roma remains focused on retaining the player for the upcoming centenary season and Champions League campaign.
