AS Roma secures Zeki Celik's contract extension
AS Roma confirmed that Turkish defender Zeki Celik has signed a new three‑year contract worth roughly €3 million per season. The deal ends months of speculation after his previous contract expired on 30 June and closes the window for Juventus and Inter Milan, who had shown interest in the free‑agent defender.
Celik was a near‑ever‑present starter last season, featuring in 43 of 45 matches and helping Roma qualify for the Champions League. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini played a key role in the negotiations, emphasizing the importance of retaining a consistent centre‑back as the club prepares for a busy domestic and European campaign.
