AS Roma signs Santiago Castro from Bologna for €35 million

AS Roma announced the permanent signing of Argentine striker Santiago Tomàs Castro from Bologna. The club confirmed a five‑year contract running to 2031, with the forward taking the number 9 shirt. The deal is valued at €35 million plus bonuses and includes a 10 % sell‑on clause.

Castro, born in 2004, made 105 appearances and scored 22 goals for Bologna after earlier spells with Vélez Sarsfield. The transfer is Roma’s first incoming move of the summer window and adds competition for centre‑forward positions under manager Gian Piero Gasperi.
