AS Roma targets new signings amid transfer window deadline

AS Roma is navigating a complex final week of the summer transfer window, balancing squad reinforcements with strict financial fair play constraints. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini has identified a left-winger as a top priority, with Chelsea’s Jamie Gittens and Lyon’s Malick Fofana being the primary targets. While an agreement has reportedly been reached with Fofana, the club is also weighing a loan move for Gittens.

Defensive movements include the imminent transfer of Jan Ziolkowski to Monza, which is contingent on securing a replacement. The club is also monitoring Brazilian defender Morato from Nottingham Forest. Several previous transfer attempts have failed due to medical concerns, including Jayden Oosterwolde and Kevin Danso.

On the outgoing side, midfielder Neil El Aynaoui is attracting interest from Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen. Roma is seeking a permanent sale for the Moroccan, while interested clubs have proposed loan deals. Additionally, striker Robinio Vaz is nearing a loan move to Hull City, a deal intended to provide the necessary funds to facilitate new arrivals.
