AS Roma to wear charity jerseys for Champions League match in Turkey

AS Roma is set to face Fenerbahçe in Istanbul for their UEFA Champions League debut. Due to Turkish laws prohibiting the advertising of betting operators, the club will not wear its usual main sponsor on its jerseys.

Instead, the club is using this regulatory restriction as an opportunity for humanitarian aid. Roma will wear special jerseys featuring the World Food Programme (WFP) logo to support relief efforts for those affected by recent floods and landslides in Nepal. The club announced that the match-worn jerseys will be auctioned, with all proceeds donated to the WFP to assist communities in need.

On the pitch, the match marks Roma's return to the Champions League after seven years. The team, managed by Gian Piero Gasperini, faces challenges regarding player fitness, with medical staff monitoring the conditions of Paulo Dybala and Manu Koné following recent matches.
