AS Roma's new sporting director pushes Dybala, Pellegrini renewals and transfer plans

Tony D’Amico, appointed as AS Roma’s sporting director effective 1 July, is already working on two main priorities. The club aims to settle its UEFA Settlement Agreement by the end of June, targeting roughly €50 million in capital gains, and to secure contract extensions for key players Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Zeki Celik.

D’Amico’s transfer strategy includes retaining the squad core while considering the sale of players such as Koné, Ndicka, Pisilli, Svilare and Soulé. Interest has emerged for Soulé from Borussia Dortmund, Fenerbahçe and a Saudi club, and for winger Dovbyk from Villarreal, Betis and Deportivo La Coruña. The director also identifies Mason Greenwood, currently at Marseille, as a top target despite the French club’s high asking price. Negotiations are ongoing, with owner Ryan Friedkin staying involved through agents.

The overall goal is to finalize the settlement and complete the contractual and transfer moves before the summer window closes, positioning Roma for the upcoming season.
