AS Saint-Étienne manages major squad changes and high-value transfers

AS Saint-Étienne is undergoing significant squad changes during the summer transfer window. The club has officially signed Slovenian midfielder Tamar Svetlin from Korona Kielce on a four-year contract. The transfer, valued at approximately €2.5 million to €3 million including bonuses, represents a record sale for the Polish club Korona Kielce.

In addition to incoming talent, Saint-Étienne is working to reduce its squad size. Belgian striker Lucas Stassin is a primary subject of interest; while Benfica was previously considered the frontrunner, Atlético Madrid has reportedly entered the race, with a meeting expected in Madrid. Saint-Étienne is seeking between €20 million and €25 million for the player.

Other players currently being managed for departures include Aïmen Moueffek, who has seen recent interest, as well as Mickaël Nadé, Ebenezer Annan, and Pierre Ekwah, as the club seeks to align the roster with manager Ian Cathro’s plans.
