AS Saint-Étienne wins 3-2 against Dijon to lead Ligue 2

AS Saint-Étienne maintained their perfect start to the Ligue 2 season with a 3-2 comeback victory against Dijon on Monday night. The win marks the club's fourth consecutive victory, a feat not achieved by the team since 1973.

Despite playing without Jakob Breum, Saint-Étienne took an early lead through Thierno Ballo in the 21st minute. Dijon responded with two goals from Samy Chouchane (39th and 55th minutes) to take a 2-1 lead. However, Ballo secured a second goal for the visitors in the 64th minute to equalize, before Augustine Boakye scored the winning goal with a strike in the 80th minute.

With this result, Saint-Étienne sits at the top of the league with 12 points, holding a four-point lead over Reims and Montpellier. Meanwhile, Dijon remains in 17th place with two points.

In transfer news, Belgian striker Lucas Stassin is reportedly nearing a move from Saint-Étienne to FC Sevilla on a loan deal with an option to buy. Stassin was notably absent from the matchday squad for the game against Dijon.
