AS Saint‑Étienne prepares for summer exits of Lucas Stassin and Zuriko Davitashvili

French Ligue 2 side AS Saint‑Étienne, still in the second division after failing to gain promotion for the 2025‑2026 season, is contemplating the sale of two of its most valuable players. Forward Lucas Stassin and Georgian winger Zuriko Davitashvili have been linked with departures as the club seeks to balance its finances. Transfer rumors indicate interest from clubs abroad, while the club’s valuation of Davitashvili has risen to around €12‑20 million.

Coach Ian Cathro omitted both players from the squad traveling to a friendly in Glasgow, a move that has been interpreted as a clear signal that the two are being prepared for exits. Negotiations are reportedly underway, though no final agreements have been reached.

The situation mirrors a previous market episode involving Stassin, when the club demanded a high fee. The upcoming transfer window will determine whether Saint‑Étienne can secure substantial fees for the duo or retain them for the new Ligue 2 campaign.
