AS Saint‑Étienne sells Zuriko Davitashvili to Atalanta for over €10 million

Georgian winger Zuriko Davitashvili, who joined AS Saint‑Étienne (ASSE) from Girondins de Bordeaux for €6 million, has attracted a strong offer from Serie A club Atalanta Bergamo. The Italian side is reported to have made an oral proposal of at least €10 million, prompting AS Saint‑Étienne to prepare for the player’s departure. Davitashvili has featured in 67 matches for the club, scoring 25 goals and providing 13 assists, and his market value has risen sharply during the season.

The expected transfer would provide a significant financial boost to the Ligue 2 club, which is seeking funds to remain competitive and possibly retain Belgian forward Lucas Stassin for another season. The sale reflects the club’s broader strategy to capitalize on player assets amid limited TV revenue and a push to return to Ligue 1.
