AS Trenčín signs Spanish midfielder Pablo González; ex‑goalkeeper Vozinha seeks new club
Slovak club AS Trenčín announced the signing of 31‑year‑old Spanish midfielder Pablo González Juárez on a one‑year deal, making him the first Spaniard to wear the team's jersey. González, a product of Almería and the academies of Atlético Madrid and Villarreal, has previously played in Spain’s top division, for Czech sides Dukla Prague, Sigma Olomouc and Zlín, and had brief spells with Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv and Cyprus’s Ethnikos Achna. He said, “I am very happy to have signed with AS Trenčín. I found excellent conditions here and the people at the club are very friendly.”
In a related move, Gambian left‑back Saibo Saidy, 20, joined FK Železiarne Podbrezová from Finnish club Mikkelin Palloilijat after impressing with four goals in ten matches in Finland’s second tier.
Meanwhile, 40‑year‑old former AS Trenčín goalkeeper Vozinha, a Cape Verde international whose contract with Portugal’s Chaves recently expired, told CBS Mornings that he is on a break after the 2026 World Cup and is actively looking for a new club. He remarked, “I am very happy… I want a club that truly wants me as a player, not just for marketing.”
