ASA-AL trails 2-0 in Série D final against Uberlândia
ASA-AL faces a significant challenge in the second leg of the Série D final after losing 2-0 to Uberlândia in the first match held in Arapiraca. To secure the national championship, the Alagoas-based team must win by at least two goals to force a penalty shootout or by three or more goals to win the title outright.
Midfielder Ferreira, who recently renewed his contract with the club, addressed the first-leg defeat in a press conference. He expressed regret over his involvement in the goals conceded, including an own goal, describing the incident as an ‘infelicidade’ (misfortune). Despite the setback, Ferreira remains confident in the squad's ability to stage a comeback in the return leg in Minas Gerais.
Statistical data shows that ASA-AL has struggled to achieve large margins of victory while playing away from home throughout the competition. The decisive second leg is scheduled to take place at the Parque do Sabiá stadium.
