Asa Branca biopic starring Felipe Simas premieres on Telecine

The biopic ‘Asa Branca – A Voz da Arena’ has premiered on Telecine, chronicling the life of Waldemar Ruy dos Santos, a legendary Brazilian rodeo announcer. Played by actor Felipe Simas, the film follows the journey of a man who transitioned from a humble background in Turiúba, São Paulo, to becoming one of the most iconic voices in the rodeo circuit during the 1990s.

Originally aspiring to be a bull rider, Dos Santos’s career path changed following a severe accident in Fernandópolis, where he was trampled by a bull, resulting in a perforated lung. During his recovery, he discovered a passion for narration. The film depicts how he revolutionized the rodeo experience by introducing innovative elements such as wireless microphones, heavy rock music, and pyrotechnics to enhance the spectacle of the arena.
