Asaduddin Owaisi criticizes Elon Musk over India sovereignty

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has criticized Elon Musk regarding the billionaire's comments on Starlink’s entry into the Indian market. Owaisi stated that while he opposes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, such opposition does not grant foreign businessmen the right to question India’s sovereignty or influence its internal decision-making processes.

The controversy follows remarks by Musk, who suggested that certain business groups in India are obstructing Starlink’s operations. Musk specifically referenced Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani in his comments. In response, the Indian government has denied allegations of discrimination, noting that Starlink, Reliance Jio’s satellite service, and Eutelsat OneWeb are all undergoing necessary security clearances and regulatory reviews.

Owaisi also questioned the BJP’s stance on nationalism, asking why the government appeared to remain silent when a foreign entity challenged the country’s authority. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi used the incident to critique the relationship between the government and major industrialists.
