Asaduddin Owaisi seeks ECI intervention over Telangana voter form collection
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has called for intervention from the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) regarding the collection of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms in Telangana.
Owaisi reported that numerous citizens have complained to his guidance desk that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are refusing to accept enumeration forms on August 9 and 10, citing public holidays for Bonalu and Rangam. He noted that while the ECI deadline for submission is August 10, citizens are reportedly being turned away by officers unwilling to work during the holidays.
In a separate development regarding the electoral roll revision, BJP leader N Ramchander Rao stated that party workers are conducting door-to-door visits across Telangana to assist eligible voters. Rao urged workers to remain vigilant to prevent the inclusion of ineligible names in the voter lists during the second phase of the revision exercise.
