ASAE inspector accused of attempted murder in Portugal

An ASAE inspector, Cristiano Santos, has been accused by the Public Ministry of attempted murder in Marinha Grande. The 45-year-old official allegedly used his service weapon during an incident driven by jealousy.

The prosecution claims the events occurred in January, when Santos targeted a man he believed was the lover of his partner of 15 years. According to the accusations, the inspector trapped the man inside a vehicle, physically assaulted him with punches, and subsequently shot him in the arm when the individual attempted to confront him.

In addition to attempted murder, Santos faces charges of physical injury, possession of a prohibited weapon, and crimes committed with a weapon.
