Marsala school student threatens classmate with knife

A middle school student in Marsala, Sicily, threatened a classmate with a knife at the Pipitone Institute. Teachers and students intervened to disarm the girl, preventing serious injury. The Carabinieri are investigating the incident to determine the motives behind the attack. School principal Mariella Parrinello stated that while disciplinary measures will be taken, the situation requires deeper support for the youth involved, noting that the student had not previously shown signs of violence.

Regional Education Assessor Mimmo Turano expressed solidarity with the victim and the school staff. He highlighted the need for psychological support services in schools, noting similar concerns raised in Caltanissetta and Enna. He emphasized that such incidents serve as a warning regarding the role of families and the necessity of specialized listening services for students.
