Asahi and Kirin announce new beverage product developments

Asahi Breweries has achieved a domestic first by registering a “dynamic design” patent with the Japan Patent Office for its ‘Mirai no Lemon Sour’ product. The patent protects the visual process of real lemon slices rising to the surface within the full-open can, recognizing the movement of the liquid and fruit as a protected design element.

Following this, Kirin Beer announced the launch of a seasonal ‘Kira Yoi Apple Raspberry Tea Sour Sparkling’ beverage. Scheduled for release on October 20, 2026, the 3% alcohol sparkling drink combines apple and raspberry flavors with tea notes to provide a seasonal autumn taste.
