South Korean public sectors accelerate AI integration in administration

Various South Korean administrative bodies are implementing generative AI to enhance public services and operational efficiency. In Chilgok County, 230 employees completed practical training on tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to assist with report drafting and image creation, with plans to expand advanced training by 2027.

The Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) reported that 93% of its staff now use generative AI, with 60% noting a reduction in task time by over 30%. This saved time is being redirected toward high-value activities such as policy planning and direct corporate consulting. Employees have even used AI to develop internal automation tools, including QR-based attendance systems.

In Incheon, the Incheon AI Administrative Innovation Research Group visited the Seoul AI Foundation to study successful implementation models. The group aims to explore how AI can improve urban competitiveness and citizen quality of life, specifically focusing on smart administration in Songdo International City and reducing educational gaps through AI-driven learning.
