Asako Ito discusses apartment rent increase on television

Comedian Asako Ito shared details regarding a recent rent increase for her apartment during an appearance on the Nippon TV variety program ‘Ueda to Onna ga Hoeru Yoru’ on August 30.

Ito revealed that her landlord initially requested a monthly increase of 20,000 yen. After initially hesitating and researching comparable units in her building, she discovered that market rates had risen significantly. She noted that having lived in the same apartment for eight or nine years, her current rate had been quite favorable. Following negotiations, the landlord eventually agreed to a monthly increase of 10,000 yen, which Ito accepted.
