Asami Mizuto launches new podcast series

Nippon TV announcer Asami Mizuto has launched her first podcast program, titled “Asami Mizuto no Shigoto Janai Radio” (Asami Mizuto’s Not-Work Radio). The series aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere where listeners can hear her personal thoughts on lifestyle, food, and daily observations, contrasting with her high-energy persona on morning television programs like “ZIP!”.

During the debut episode, Mizuto discussed the challenges of transitioning to audio-only media. She noted the difficulty of maintaining a casual tone without falling back into her professional, highly articulated broadcasting style. She also shared personal anecdotes, including how she developed a specialized, low-volume way of speaking in public to prevent her conversations from being overheard by journalists in restaurants.

The podcast marks an expansion of Mizuto’s presence in media following her recent foray into live talk shows and her successful qualification as a weather forecaster.
