ASBU Festival opens in Tunisia with focus on Sino-Arab media cooperation

The 26th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), has opened in Tunisia. The event features a mix of cultural tributes and discussions on the evolving audiovisual landscape.

A key focus of the festival is the strengthening of audiovisual cooperation between China and Arab nations. During a dialogue session in Hammamet, officials discussed the potential for a Sino-Arab audiovisual cooperation center. Initiatives are already underway to broadcast Chinese programs dubbed in Arabic and Arab programs dubbed in Chinese.

Participants emphasized the role of artificial intelligence and new technologies in the sector, calling for increased training and workshops. Future cooperation may extend to content co-production and financing to highlight the cultural heritage of both regions.
