ASC and MSC UK Awards recognize seafood industry leaders

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) held their 2026 awards at Fishmongers’ Hall in London to recognize excellence in sustainable seafood and aquaculture.

In the aquaculture category, Sainsbury’s was named ASC Supermarket of the Year for the fifth consecutive year. MOWI received two honors, winning both Farmer of the Year and Brand of the Year. Other winners included Co-op as Newcomer of the Year, Waitrose for Product of the Year, and New England Seafood as Supplier of the Year.

In the wild-capture sector, the Shetland Shellfish Management Organisation (SSMO) received the ocean leadership award. The award recognizes the SSMO’s use of science-based management and innovation to sustain its crab and scallop fisheries, which involve a fleet of 105 licensed boats.
