Ascamarita plans composting yard to process 100 tons of waste monthly

The Association of Recyclable and Reusable Material Collectors of Itabira (Ascamarita) is planning a composting yard to process 100 tons of waste per month. This expansion follows infrastructure improvements and partnerships with the municipality and the mining company Vale through the ‘Reciclo Agora’ project.

Supported by these investments, the association has moved from a rented building with dirt floors to a structured 5,000-square-meter warehouse. This facility allows for the organized receiving, sorting, pressing, and storage of materials. The association provides a vital source of income for its members and promotes environmental conservation practices within the local community.
