ASCAP appoints Jackson Wagener as Head of General Licensing
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has appointed Jackson Wagener as Senior Vice President and Head of General Licensing. The appointment is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.
Wagener, a 12-year veteran of the organization, currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs, a position he has held since 2020. In his new role, he will report to Stephanie Ruyle, ASCAP’s Executive Vice President and Head of Licensing.
Wagener will oversee the team responsible for licensing ASCAP’s repertoire of more than 20 million musical works to various establishments, including restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, fitness studios, and live music venues. The move is intended to address evolving technological landscapes and provide innovative licensing solutions for businesses while ensuring fair compensation for songwriters.
