Ascoli defender Nicholas Rizzo scores first Serie B goal

Ascoli defender Nicholas Rizzo scored his first career goal in Serie B during a 1-1 draw against Empoli at the Del Duca stadium. Rizzo credited teammate Brunori for the assist, noting that he simply pushed the ball into the net.

Following the match, Rizzo dedicated the goal to his family and specifically to his father, describing him as the first person he calls during difficult times. Regarding the match dynamics, Rizzo described the game as a physical encounter, particularly when facing Empoli's two forwards. He noted that the match opened up in the second half as Empoli dropped deeper.

While satisfied with the point, Rizzo emphasized that Ascoli needs to be more clinical in front of the goal to better exploit opportunities against strong opponents like Empoli. He also expressed admiration for teammate Gattoni, stating he aims to learn from his veteran defender.
