Ascoli launches safety project with new police and cameras

The municipality of Ascoli has launched the operational phase of the ‘Ascoli Città Sicura’ (Safe City Ascoli) project. As of September 1, three new local police officers have joined the force to increase presence and monitoring in sensitive areas.

The initiative combines human presence with technological upgrades, including the installation of 63 new cameras across 15 zones to reinforce the existing video surveillance network. These cameras are intended to serve a preventive function and assist law enforcement in identifying individuals responsible for crimes or illicit behavior. Additionally, a mobile Carabinieri station has been positioned in the city center to provide a visible point of reference for citizens.
