Ascoli Piceno inaugurates Anima Picena Student Housing

The Anima Picena Student Housing facility has been inaugurated in Ascoli Piceno, marking a strategic step in strengthening the city's identity as a university hub. The new residence, located on via Piemonte, was opened in the presence of the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini.

The project involved the recovery of a previously unused building, repurposing it to provide modern living environments, integrated services, and social spaces designed to support student well-being and academic success. Guido Castelli, the extraordinary commissioner for post-2016 earthquake reconstruction, noted that the initiative aims to use higher education as a tool against depopulation by creating conditions that encourage young people to stay in or move to the central Apennines.

Mayor Marco Fioravanti emphasized that the housing project is part of a broader strategy to make the city more attractive to new generations. He stated that welcoming new students brings energy, skills, and new opportunities to the community, reinforcing the right to study within the Marche region.
