Ascoli Piceno Present festival celebrates 11 years of contemporary arts

The eleventh edition of the multidisciplinary festival ‘Ascoli Piceno Present’ (APP) is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17. Organized by the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno and AMAT, with support from the Marche Region and the Ministry of Culture, the event aims to integrate contemporary theater, music, and dance into the city’s historic spaces.

The program features nine distinct appointments across various venues, including the Teatro dei Filarmonici, Pinacoteca Civica, and the Church of San Pietro. The festival opens on October 16 at the Teatro dei Filarmonici with ‘Glenn. Una variazione’ by Jonathan Lazzini, a performance dedicated to pianist Glenn Gould. Other featured artists include Emma Dante, Chiara Bersani, Francesco Marilungo, and the group Mille.

Designed to foster dialogue between artists and the public, the festival transforms the streets and museums of Ascoli Piceno into a distributed stage for contemporary artistic research and experimentation.
