Ascoli Piceno renames public park to Parco Emilio Nardinocchi
The public park on via De Berardinis in the Borgo Solestà district of Ascoli Piceno has been officially renamed ‘Parco Emilio Nardinocchi’. The park is named in honor of Emilio Nardinocchi, a distinguished citizen and the first console of the Sestiere di Porta Solestà.
Mayor Marco Fioravanti described the dedication as a recognition of a man who lived his life for others and for local tradition. The project involved a significant redevelopment of the area, which now features multi-functional spaces, children's play areas, paved pedestrian paths, new lighting, and contemporary urban furniture, with a specific focus on accessibility.
The renaming follows a process initiated by the City Council in May 2025. The formalization of the name occurred in July 2025, adhering to municipal regulations regarding the ten-year period following a person's passing.
