Ascoliva Festival sees surge in tourist attendance

The Ascoliva Festival in Ascoli Piceno has seen a significant surge in attendance, particularly during the traditional ‘Notte Bianca’ event. The ‘Villaggio dell’Oliva’ located in the cloister of San Francesco has experienced high visitor numbers, with tables reaching full capacity across various time slots.

According to Massimo Di Ferdinando, president of the Ascoliva Festival, the influx includes tourists from across Italy—including regions such as Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Abruzzo, and Puglia—as well as international groups. This trend marks a shift from previous years when the city typically saw a decrease in population following the Sant’Emidio celebrations.

The festival is scheduled to continue until August 19, featuring various cultural and culinary events. Upcoming programming includes sessions on the history of the ‘oliva tenera ascolana DOP’ led by Professor Leonardo Seghetti, and presentations on the civic museums of Ascoli Piceno by Professor Stefano Papetti.
