Ascot developers submit revised plans for flats above convenience store

A new application has been submitted to add four flats above a convenience store on Brockenhurst Road in Ascot. This follows a previous attempt to add an additional storey that was rejected by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in November last year.

The previous proposal was denied due to concerns that the extension would be incongruous with neighboring buildings and would cause visual intrusion for residents. Additionally, local MP Jack Rankin had raised objections regarding parking and traffic impacts.

The revised design aims to address these issues by replacing the original flat roof with a mansard roof and ensuring the structure slopes away from the facade to prevent overbearing impacts. The developer, represented by Arm Design & Build, stated that the new plans mitigate previous concerns regarding the building's prominence.
