ASD Judo Valle Maira expands youth martial arts programs

Martial arts such as judo and karate offer significant developmental benefits for children, focusing on physical coordination, self-awareness, and respect rather than just combat. Stefano Stefanel, president of the FIJLKAM management committee, notes that these disciplines function as structured gymnastics where the primary lesson is control and understanding an opponent through regulated contact.

In the Valle Maira region of Italy, ASD Judo Valle Maira is expanding its programs. Following its established schedule in Dronero, the association is launching new courses in Busca starting September 14. The programs include Judokando for children aged 3 to 7, which uses play and movement to introduce the tatami, and introductory judo for older children and adolescents. The initiative aims to foster social connections and personal growth alongside physical activity.
