Asda expands UK footprint with new wholesale model and parcel locker rollout
Asda is expanding its presence in the UK convenience and service sectors through two major initiatives. The retailer has launched ‘Asda Convenience’, a new wholesale model designed for independent retailers. Unlike the company-owned Asda Express format, this model allows independent partners to operate under the Asda fascia, offering approximately 3,500 products including own-label, fresh, and chilled food ranges. A three-store trial is currently underway in Scotland in partnership with One-O-One, with the potential to expand to 50 additional stores this year.
Simultaneously, Asda is partnering with InPost to roll out parcel lockers to 700 stores nationwide. This rollout will allow customers to collect, send, and return parcels at supermarkets, superstores, and Express locations. This initiative complements Asda’s existing partnership with Evri, which has already integrated ParcelShops into 1,200 locations.
