Asda relaunches nostalgic Puffin chocolate bars

Asda has relaunched its Puffin chocolate biscuit bars, a product that has been absent from shelves for nearly 30 years. The bars were originally discontinued in 1997 following a High Court legal dispute regarding their similarity to Penguin bars. While the court ruled that the Puffin name could be retained, branding changes were required, which Asda ultimately did not pursue at the time.

The return of the Puffin bar is part of a wider overhaul of Asda’s biscuit aisle, which includes the introduction of 20 new own-label products. The Puffin bars are being sold in 8-packs for £1. The new lineup also features various chocolate-coated biscuits, premium shortbread, and savory flatbreads.
