ASDP implements port sterilization at Merak Port

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has officially implemented sterilization measures at Merak Port in Banten to enhance safety, security, and order. This policy involves regulating and restricting access for people and vehicles entering the port area, in accordance with Ministry of Transportation Regulation Number PM 91 of 2021 regarding port zoning.

ASDP President Director Heru Widodo stated that the high level of daily activity at Merak Port necessitates orderly access management to ensure all individuals within the area are identified and supervised. The goal is to create a safer and more comfortable environment for all service users.

Regarding reports of a 650,000 IDR fee collected from traders, ASDP clarified that these funds are not collected by the company and do not constitute part of its official tariffs or revenue. Following clarifications, the payment was identified as part of the internal management of the foundation overseeing the traders, covering costs for facilities and identification such as vests, ID cards, and social security (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan).
