ASDP maintains ferry operations amid Anak Krakatau activity

ASDP has confirmed that ferry operations at Bakauheni Port remain normal despite rumors of congestion caused by volcanic activity from Mount Anak Krakatau. While vehicle volumes saw a slight decrease of approximately 8.6 percent between September 4 and September 5, 2026, officials stated that this did not result in traffic buildup or operational disruptions.

To mitigate risks from potential volcanic ash, ASDP has distributed masks to crew members and passengers on the KMP Jatra III. The company is coordinating with BMKG and PVMBG to monitor weather and environmental conditions. ASDP Director Heru Widodo emphasized that passenger safety remains the top priority.
