Indonesia's Borneo FC and Persib Bandung placed in ASEAN Club Championship groups

The ASEAN Club Championship 2026‑2027 draw assigned Indonesia’s representatives to two different groups. Borneo FC was placed in Group A alongside Thailand’s defending champion Buriram United, Ratchaburi FC, Malaysia’s Kuching City, Singapore’s Tampines Rovers, the Vietnamese Cup winner and the winner of a Brunei‑Philippines playoff.

Persib Bandung was drawn into Group B with Thailand’s Port FC, Malaysia’s Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), Singapore’s Lion City Sailors, Vietnam’s Cong An Ha Noi, Cambodia’s Svay Rieng and the winner of a Laos‑Myanmar playoff. The competition will feature 14 clubs, with each team playing three home and three away matches in the group stage; the top four from each group advance to the quarter‑finals.

Both clubs earned their spots by finishing first and second in Indonesia’s Super League 2025‑2026, and the draw reflects Thailand’s top regional ranking, granting it the most representatives. The tournament is seen as a key opportunity for Indonesian clubs to gain international experience and improve their competitiveness in Southeast Asian football.
