ASEAN Launches Unified Energy Data Platform Amid Growing Asian Demand
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) introduced the ASEAN Premium Energy Chart Pack, a market‑intelligence suite that consolidates more than 42,000 harmonised data points across the ten ASEAN economies. The tool offers daily, weekly and monthly indicators on electricity consumption, vehicle registrations, EV adoption, renewable deployments and cross‑border energy trade, enabling companies to spot demand turn‑points and assess supply‑chain risks before official statistics are released.
The launch comes as Asia reshapes the global energy map. China, India and Southeast Asia now account for the majority of incremental worldwide energy demand, driving a shift in crude oil and LNG flows toward Asian refiners and import terminals. Geopolitical tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, along with evolving OPEC+ production policies, add uncertainty to supply routes. Investors and energy firms are therefore turning to detailed regional data such as that provided by the new ASEAN platform to navigate the rapidly changing market landscape.
