ASEC Mimosas eliminates ASC Kara from CAF Champions League

ASEC Mimosas has advanced to the second round of the CAF Champions League after defeating ASC Kara 2-1 in the second leg of the preliminary round in Abidjan. The match followed a 1-1 draw in the first leg held in Togo.

ASC Kara took an early lead in the 45th minute through Yabouri Yendoubouame. However, the momentum shifted in the second half when Kara captain Dodzi Amekoudi received a red card for a handball in the 59th minute. Olivier Sou D’avila converted the resulting penalty to equalize.

ASEC Mimosas secured the victory and the aggregate win when Sou D’avila scored a second penalty in the 68th minute following a controversial decision by referee Gelson Adolfo Esono. The loss marks the end of the African campaign for the Togolese champions, mirroring their exit from the competition last year.
