ASELSAN unveils SMASH 300 naval weapon system

ASELSAN has introduced the SMASH 300, the latest addition to its SMASH Remote Controlled Stabilized Naval Weapon System family. The new system is designed to address modern maritime threats, specifically targeting surface vessels as well as mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

During firing tests conducted in Karapınar, Konya, the SMASH 300 prototype demonstrated its effectiveness against both single and multiple aerial targets, including land-based and mini drones. The system features artificial intelligence support for multi-target detection, tracking, and object classification, allowing it to adapt to varying target sizes.

Key technological enhancements include the integration of ATOM smart ammunition and improved electro-optical capabilities, such as upgraded thermal cameras, TV cameras, and laser rangefinders. The SMASH 300 also offers increased ammunition capacity compared to previous models in the product line. ASELSAN aims to bolster the defense capabilities of the Turkish Naval Forces and Coast Guard through this domestic technology.
