Turkish defense firms test new AKINCI TİHA munitions

Turkish defense companies ASELSAN, Baykar, STM, and Roketsan have successfully conducted firing tests for two new precision munitions launched from the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA.

ASELSAN's TOLUN P is a 250 lb class bunker-buster munition designed to penetrate up to 1 meter of reinforced concrete. It is intended for use against underground bunkers, command centers, and armored hangars. Utilizing the SADAK-4T multi-carrier system, it can be deployed in multiple quantities from the AKINCI platform, allowing pilots to strike several strategic targets simultaneously using electronic fuses.

Additionally, the ALPAGUT smart loitering munition, developed jointly by STM and Roketsan, successfully completed its flight tests. ALPAGUT features an operational radius of 60 kilometers and can remain airborne for over 60 minutes. It is capable of detecting, tracking, and autonomously diving onto targets. The system can be used in both single and swarm configurations and is compatible with various platforms, including the Bayraktar AKINCI, TB3, and several helicopters and ground/sea vehicles.
