ASEP to implement new adaptive verbal reasoning tests

ASEP is developing a new verbal reasoning test in collaboration with the Psychology Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The new assessment follows a logic similar to the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) model, where candidates must evaluate statements as ‘True’, ‘False’, or ‘Cannot be answered’ based strictly on a provided text.

Unlike the fixed structure used by EPSO, the ASEP test will utilize Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). In this format, the difficulty of subsequent questions adjusts based on the candidate's previous answers. This means the number of questions and the time allocated may vary between individuals.

The question bank is currently under construction, with a planned process to produce 480 items that will eventually result in 100 testlets following peer review.
