ASFINAG Overhauls Austria’s S5 Highway, New Traffic Patterns Between Tulln and Königsbrunn

The Austrian motorway operator ASFINAG announced that the renovation of the Stockerauer Schnellstraße (S5) between Tulln and Königsbrunn has passed its halfway point and is moving into the next construction phase. The project involves resurfacing the road, renewing concrete barrier walls, wildlife and amphibian fences, and replacing noise‑shield elements.

From 30 July 18:00 until 3 August 05:00 traffic will be rerouted: each direction will have a single operating lane, with clear road‑markings and overhead signs. ASFINAG expects the full works to finish by the end of November 2026, though the timetable could allow earlier completion.
