The 33rd International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival is currently underway, featuring prominent international and national cinema events. Two-time Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi is a central figure of the festival, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award. Farhadi also held a masterclass and hosted the Turkish premiere of his latest film, ‘Parallel Tales’ (Kesişen Hayatlar), which features stars such as Isabelle Huppert and Vincent Cassel.

In addition to international highlights, the festival’s National Feature Film Competition has commenced with screenings of ‘Karanlıkta Islık Çalanlar’ and ‘MUTTER: Bir Annenin Hatıra Defteri’. These screenings were followed by discussions with the film crews regarding themes of family, generational conflict, and motherhood.

Another significant event included a discussion titled ‘Cinema and Social Memory’ following the screening of the documentary ‘Posta Kutusu 213 Diyarbakır’, written and directed by Orhan Miroğlu. The session, moderated by Mehmet Açar, explored the power of cinema in preserving historical narratives and social memory.
